About Mike McCorkle

Fitness has always been part of my life—but it didn’t become my purpose until I lost it.

I was raised in a health-conscious family, born into wrestling and jiu-jitsu, and exposed to structured training before I was old enough to understand what it was. I was stretching with my dad on the stairs at four years old. Movement, discipline, and physical effort were simply normal.

That foundation followed me into adulthood—until I tore my ACL at 18.

That injury didn’t just take me out of training. It took my identity with it. For the first time, I wasn’t an athlete. I wasn’t progressing. I wasn’t myself. Rehab became my wake-up call, and bodybuilding became the outlet that gave me direction again. Fitness stopped being something I did and became something I wanted to understand—deeply, technically, and completely.

In 2018, I began training professionally at XSport Fitness, where I quickly learned that most people don’t fail because they lack motivation—they fail because they lack structure. By 2020, I became the #1 trainer in the company, and over that time I won 10 Get Fit Challenges, helping clients earn $5,000 per challenge through sustainable fat loss, consistent habits, and intelligent nutrition—not extremes.

Since then, I’ve helped 490+ clients lose fat, build muscle, improve health markers, rebuild confidence, and—in many cases—change the direction of their lives.

Today, I bring 8+ years of hands-on coaching experience into a system-based approach that prioritizes:

  • Long-term fat loss (not short-term scale drops)

  • Precision nutrition using real data, not guesswork

  • Training that’s effective, efficient, and joint-friendly

  • Discipline without deprivation

  • Results that actually last

Nutrition Is My Specialty

Training builds the body—but nutrition determines the outcome.

My expertise is nutrition: from weight loss and body recomposition to competitive bodybuilding prep. I’m obsessive about accuracy, context, and execution. That means:

  • Evidence-based macro planning

  • USDA-standard food data

  • Real-world flexibility without losing precision

  • Teaching clients why things work, not just what to do

Whether someone is a busy professional trying to lose 30 pounds, or a competitive athlete preparing for the stage, the principles don’t change, only the level of precision does.

From Lifestyle Clients to the Stage

I coach a wide range of individuals, including:

  • Weight-loss and lifestyle clients

  • Body recomposition and muscle-building clients

  • Competitive bodybuilding athletes (men’s physique, classic, wellness)

  • Former athletes rebuilding after injury

  • People who have “tried everything” and need a system that finally sticks

As both a competitor and coach, I understand the physical and mental demands of bodybuilding prep—from training execution and nutrition timing to recovery, stress management, and sustainability. I don’t coach extremes for the sake of ego. I coach results that respect health, longevity, and life outside the gym.

My Philosophy

I don’t believe in:

  • Perfect plans that fall apart under real life

  • Cookie-cutter macros

  • Suffering as a badge of honor

  • Motivation as a strategy

I do believe in:

  • Systems that adapt

  • Structure that creates freedom

  • Consistency over intensity

  • Discipline over deprivation

Fitness changed my life when I needed it most. Now, my mission is to make it simpler, clearer, and more sustainable for the people I coach—so they don’t lose years chasing the wrong answers.
